Schedule: Onsite | 6 am - 2:30 pm

Duration: 3 months


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join a busy clinical laboratory setting in Davenport, FL. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience, strong blood collection skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This position will involve working with a diverse patient population, including pediatric and geriatric patients, as well as a high volume of Spanish-speaking patients.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.



  • Perform up to 40 blood draws per day and support a high-volume location handling 120+ patients per day.



  • Process and prepare blood specimens according to established laboratory procedures.



  • Perform accurate order entry and maintain appropriate documentation.



  • Follow proper procedures for patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, processing, and handling.



  • Provide professional and compassionate customer service throughout the patient experience.



  • Work effectively with a team in a busy, high-volume environment.



  • Demonstrate proficiency with pediatric and geriatric collections.



  • Perform drug screening as required.



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.



  • Follow laboratory, safety, infection-control, and company procedures.



  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy during specimen collection and processing.




Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience



  • Strong venipuncture and blood collection skills



  • Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients



  • Experience with order entry



  • Excellent customer service skills



  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills



  • Ability to work effectively as a team player



  • Ability to work in a busy, high-volume clinical environment



  • Comfortable working with a diverse patient population



  • No specific certification required




Preferred Skills


  • Pediatric blood collection experience



  • Geriatric blood collection experience



  • Drug screening experience



  • Experience in a high-volume patient service center



  • Experience working with Spanish-speaking patient populations
