Reporting to the UVA Health Chief Financial Officer, the UVA Health Controller leads the accounting operations of both the University of Virginia Medical Center, a 670+ bed academic teaching hospital with a Level 1 trauma center, Level IV NICU and an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and UVA Community Health, a 501(c)3 with collectively 260 patient beds across Prince William Medical Center, Culpeper Medical Center, Haymarket Medical Center and 40 outpatient clinic locations. Together, these entities generate over $4.0 billion in net patient revenue annually. The Role The UVA Health Controller is accountable for the accuracy of the Medical Center & Community Health financials, including maintenance of its accounting records, production and distribution of financial reports, development and maintenance of controls and budgets, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and state reporting requirements while cultivating a culture of integrity and operational efficiency. In addition, the Controller is responsible for the consolidated financial reporting of the entire Health System, which includes UVA Medical Center, UVA Community Health, the UVA Physicians Group, the UVA Medical School, the UVA Nursing School, and the Health Sciences Library, collectively more than a $5.3 billion enterprise. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, or related field required. Master's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field preferred. Experience: 10 years of senior management experience with increasing responsibility in financial management in a large, complex organization(s), preferably a health system. Licensure: CPA required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The pay range for this role is $186,301.00 - $372,602.00 annually.
