We are seeking a Senior Digital Strategist for a flexible, part-time contract role (avg. 28 hrs/week, 1 day/week onsite in Downtown Detroit) with a leading regional energy provider. We are looking for a veteran digital leader (10+ yrs exp) to bridge business and technology-shaping digital roadmaps, optimizing web touchpoints, and leveraging web analytics and modern search strategies to transform customer journeys. What You'll Do:
- Lead and champion external digital customer experience initiatives, aligning them with overarching business objectives and enterprise priorities.
- Ensure all digital marketing and communications projects are meticulously defined with clear objectives, measurable success metrics, scope, timelines, and budget, driving efficient and effective execution.
- Apply innovative, customer-centric, and entrepreneurial approaches to solve intricate business challenges and uncover new opportunities for digital engagement.
- Manage budgeting, planning, and coordination for external professional resources, including agencies, contractors, and consultants supporting various digital initiatives.
- Drive strategic thinking to define and achieve business, customer experience, and engagement objectives across all digital channels, including websites, applications, and integrated customer journeys.
- Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to deeply understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points, translating these insights into improved digital experiences and business results.
- Leverage customer research, analytics, feedback, and performance data to inform strategic recommendations, optimize experiences, and meticulously measure success.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business priorities and enterprise goals to ensure digital strategies and initiatives are perfectly aligned.
- Demonstrate a profound understanding of customer needs, motivations, and end-to-end journeys, using this knowledge to influence and shape digital experience strategy.
- Support customer journey mapping, service design, and experience optimization efforts across all digital touchpoints.
- Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships across business, customer experience, marketing, communications, IT, product, analytics, and operations teams to foster integrated solutions and successful project delivery.
- Partner with project managers and delivery teams to support prioritization, workflow management, resource planning, and execution of digital projects.
- Collaborate closely with UX, content strategy, creative, and development teams to deliver highly effective digital experiences and content solutions.
- Champion continuous improvement practices through rigorous testing, measurement, optimization, and the application of performance insights and industry best practices.
- Lead project status reviews, stakeholder communications, and performance reporting, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of experience in digital strategy, digital marketing, digital communications, user experience, or related disciplines, specifically leading both business and technology-focused initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing customer-focused digital strategies that consistently drive engagement, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.

- Bachelor's degree in Digital Communications, Digital Marketing, User Experience, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to expertly manage multiple initiatives, navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex data, identifying trends, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Sound business judgment, including the ability to quickly grasp complex business challenges, understand customer needs, and assess organizational impacts.
- Working knowledge of web analytics, digital performance measurement, conversion optimization, and customer experience best practices.
