Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of production workers for
Machine Shop and other Fabrication cells. This position requires a person with strong leadership skills who
is self-motivated and has a positive energized effect on others. This person
will be a role model for safety, quality, 6S, and for taking ownership for
delivering results. This position will
also be the functional lead for Machine Shop and Fabrication cells, being fully
responsible for all aspects of these departments. Success will be measured by
year after year improvements in safety, quality, on time delivery.

Our Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered
Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and
Radio Frequency (RF) product lines.

Job Summary

  • Maintain production flow and inform Operations Manager of any problems meeting production goals.
  • Assignment of daily work tasks and priorities to employees in assigned department(s) to ensure no production delays.
  • Resolution of quality, material and work instruction issues.
  • Be responsible for the daily care and upkeep of equipment and tools used in the work area.
  • Lead 6S efforts and set the example for all employees to follow.
  • Work with the engineering staff to resolve process and quality issues.
  • Provide training to employees as required.
  • Represent and advocate for the Company by following and enforcing the documented Company policies.
  • Provide performance feedback from employees working in the department through performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement countermeasures and action items to effectively address cell performance issues.
  • Carries out supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Supports site initiatives as a leader of the organization.
  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work and assessing performance.
  • Be responsible for time and attendance in timekeeping system.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary (weekends included).
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic word processing and spreadsheet capability required.
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and interpret drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

Required Experience and Education

  • High School Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 5+ year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Base Compensation: USD 75,000.00 - 850,000.00
