Quality Supervisor

The Quality Supervisor directs and coordinates
activities associated with the Quality Department. They supervise workers engaged
in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over
materials, facilities, and products and demonstrate ownership of key actions and initiatives. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the consistent
application of Company policies and procedures and an understanding of
departmental processes.

We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications.

Our Facility in Coxsackie, NY manufactures large, complex contoured structural components and assemblies for aerospace and other applications. Our integrated processes include stretch-forming, thermal-forming, chemical processing, precision fabrication, machining, finishing processes, and integration of components into subassemblies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Facilitates compliance procedures for customer and international quality standards.
  • Maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures.
  • Oversees day-to-day inspection activities and work flow and providing input to the Quality Manager.
  • Ensures product inspection and documentation is ready for customer product inspection.
  • Schedules and coordinates customer product inspection activities.
  • Investigates and resolve quality issues with product and processes.
  • Confers with other supervisors, managers, and leads across departments to coordinate activities and to receive and provide support.
  • Responsible for laboratory activities, including
    solution analysis, metallographic testing, and calibration.
  • Communicates and helps resolve any potential personnel issues.
  • Champions corrective actions within the department for process improvements.
  • Participates in planning, promoting, and organizing training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Internal Audit Team Member and performs internal audits.
  • Suggests changes in use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or team.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience in aerospace quality preferred.
  • Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices
  • Knowledge of regulations that govern the manufacturing process around aircraft parts is essential (AS9100, Nadcap and/or FAA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with integrated ERP systems.
  • Math Skills - decimals, percentages, fractions, ratios, proportions; geometry and trigonometry is a plus.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints and mylars.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limited to calipers, height gage, and scales.
  • Ability to lead a group of people in a constructive, productive and fair manner.
  • Conscientious, organized and meticulous - records must be accurate and maintained.
  • Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.

Pay Range: $60,000-72,000/year
