Outstation Communications Support

Robin Sage UW CULEX / Pineland training locations, central North Carolina

Outstation Communications Support personnel provide Special Forces communications support for Robin Sage UW CULEX and related SFQC training. Personnel operate and participate in communications nets using specified HF, ALE, SMRS, SATCOM, SINCGARS/VHF, emerging radio systems, and USAJFKSWCS Base Station computer-automated functions; they also set up and recover applicable communications platforms and Tactical Operations Centers.

Job Duties:

* Communicate using Special Forces communications techniques in accordance with applicable field manuals, SMTP 18E30, SAVSERSUP 7, and the USAJFKSWCS Base Station SOP.

* Operate and participate in communications nets using long-, medium-, and short-range HF communications, automated link establishment (ALE), Special Mission Radio System (SMRS), SATCOM, SINCGARS/VHF, and emerging radio systems as fielded and employed in SFQC.

* Communicate with the USAJFKSWCS Base Station using all aspects of its computer-automated functions.

* Participate in setting up and recovering all applicable communications platforms, including setup of D/1/1 SWTG(A) Tactical Operations Centers.

* Operate Government-furnished communications equipment as required for Robin Sage UW CULEX outstation communications support.

* Remain current on technical and doctrinal areas relevant to assigned communications support and complete Government-furnished procedural/scenario training as required.

* Perform general field duties in austere conditions, day and night and in all weather, and navigate on roads and cross-country as required.

* Perform assigned communications traffic functions using FM, HF, SATCOM and/or Motorola-type radio systems in accordance with Army communications and medical evacuation procedures, as applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

* Demonstrate the ability to communicate using the Special Forces communications techniques and systems.

* Possess a current and valid SECRET security clearance.

* Be able to perform in an austere field environment during all weather conditions, day and night, during field duties, and navigate on roads and cross-country using military or civilian maps, road signs, landmarks, and/or Cadre/chain-of-command directions.

* Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States if not a U.S. citizen.

* Be able to provide information required for installation/facility background and access checks.

Other Requirements:

Performance Location: Robin Sage UW CULEX / Pineland training locations in central North Carolina and associated USAJFKSWCS communications support locations. Exact outstation locations and schedules are exercise-dependent.

Working Environment:

Field and communications-support work may occur in austere conditions, all weather, day and night, with variable exercise schedules. Duties involve radio/antenna/computer/COMSEC equipment setup, operation, recovery, communications-net participation, and Tactical Operations Center setup.
