Job Overview Material Handler II handles aluminum extrusions and other inventory used in commercial buildings. Individuals in this material handling position work as part of a team to ensure material is received, stored, picked, packed and shipped to clients accurately per schedule. Receive and distribute material throughout the facility. Key Responsibilities
Ensures that all material is handled, stored, and distributed properly per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Reads and verifies paperwork, work orders, or work instructions for distribution, and storage accuracy. Verifies quality of material and checks cradles to ensure accuracy of material. Ensure quantity and On-time and Complete (OTC) requirements are met. Ability to read and interpret work instructions. Perform basic computer functions related to data entry. Maintain inventory control and inventory accuracy for all parts in assigned areas. Communicate discrepancies between ordered and received material. Must be cross-trained and able to support all Material Handler I & II roles.
Required Skills and Qualifications Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience in material handling or a related field. Proficiency in operating a wider range of material handling equipment, including forklifts. Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures). Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.). Ability to follow blueprints. Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
