Quality Manager | Manufacturing
Build the systems. Develop the team. Strengthen the culture. Deliver quality every time.
We're looking for an experienced Quality Manager who knows that great quality doesn't happen at final inspection. It's built into the process, the systems, and the culture of a manufacturing operation. In this role, you'll lead the Quality Assurance function and own the site's Quality Management System, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations while driving continuous improvement throughout the operation. You'll combine technical quality expertise with hands-on leadership, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and other teams to solve problems, reduce risk, strengthen processes, and deliver reliable results. If you're a manufacturing quality professional who enjoys getting to the root cause, developing people, improving systems, and influencing quality beyond the walls of the QA department, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
Lead the Quality Management System
Own, maintain, and continuously improve the site's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure technical standards, specifications, testing procedures, and controls are in place to consistently produce and evaluate quality products. Establish and monitor meaningful quality metrics that measure QMS effectiveness and drive improvement. Maintain accurate quality documentation, records, procedures, retained samples, and QA hold processes. Lead ISO improvement initiatives and support continued compliance with applicable federal and state requirements.
Drive Product Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure finished products meet or exceed customer specifications and requirements. Analyze quality data, trends, product specifications, and recurring nonconformities to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions. Administer corrective and preventive action programs and help strengthen problemsolving discipline throughout the operation. Develop inspection, sampling, testing, and documentation processes that improve consistency and reliability. Partner with Production and other plant leaders to improve product quality while supporting efficiency, reliability, and cost objectives. Apply continuous improvement, Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, and statistical analysis tools where appropriate.
Own Customer Quality & Complaint Resolution
Lead the customer complaint and claims resolution process, ensuring timely investigation, rootcause analysis, corrective action, and communication. Partner with Sales on customer technical support, product specifications, product development opportunities, and new customer requirements. Translate customer feedback into actionable improvements within manufacturing operations.
Lead & Develop the Quality Team
Lead, coach, train, and develop a team of QA professionals. Establish clear expectations, work procedures, schedules, and accountability for quality activities. Ensure employees are properly trained to safely test, evaluate, and process raw materials and finished products. Support quality awareness training for new employees and reinforce quality expectations throughout the facility. Build a culture where quality is understood as a shared responsibility across the operation, not simply a QA function.
Partner Across the Business
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, corporate teams, and other locations to resolve issues and achieve business objectives. Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Participate in and lead crossfunctional initiatives focused on quality, reliability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Manage departmental planning, budgeting, supplies, and resources.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of Quality Engineering and/or Quality Management experience within a manufacturing environment required. 2+ years of leadership experience managing a team of five or more employees required. Demonstrated knowledge and handson experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems required. Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, manufacturing processes, rootcause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement. Experience working directly with manufacturing operations and solving quality issues in a fastpaced production environment. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to work through complex issues involving multiple variables. Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience within protective packaging, converting, or a related manufacturing environment is a plus. Six Sigma and/or Total Quality Management experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft D365 and Minitab is a plus. Relevant quality certifications are welcomed.
The Leader Who Will Thrive Here
You're equally comfortable on the manufacturing floor, reviewing data, coaching your team, investigating a customer complaint, and sitting across the table from operations leadership discussing how to improve the process. You don't simply identify quality problems. You help the organization understand why they happened, what needs to change, and how to prevent them from happening again. Most importantly, you know how to create accountability without creating silos. You build partnerships, develop people, and make quality part of how the entire operation works.
Physical & Work Environment
This position operates within both manufacturing and office environments and requires regular interaction throughout the facility. The role may require extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; and bending or stooping as necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ready to make quality more than a metric?
Join a manufacturing organization where your technical expertise, leadership, and ability to build strong quality systems can make a measurable impact on our products, our customers, and our operation.
