What You Will Do:
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on wind turbines to ensure efficient performance, reliability, and production.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues using technical drawings, schematics, diagnostic tools, and SCADA systems.

  • Support Balance of Plant (BOP) operations, including substations, collector systems, switchyards, and associated civil infrastructure.

  • Perform turbine electrical switching tasks and engage in high-voltage switching and substation maintenance activities as qualified.

  • Complete asset integrity inspections, maintenance reporting, and work documentation within Maximo and other maintenance management systems.

  • Promote a strong safety culture by following safe work practices, supporting contractor oversight, identifying hazards, and serving as a safety role model.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support the development of guidelines, and assist in mentoring and training less experienced technicians.

Who You Are:
  • Possession of a high school diploma or relevant experience along with 1-2 years in wind turbine maintenance and direct troubleshooting capability.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, gearbox, and power generation systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Experience using SCADA systems, diagnostic tools, Microsoft Office, and maintenance management software such as Maximo or equivalent experience.

  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, including LOTO, electrical safety, confined space entry, and working at heights.

  • Valid driver's license, ability to acquire a passport, and willingness to complete required certifications and training, including First Aid/CPR, AED, climb and rescue, and confined space training.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and time management skills, with a strong dedication to safety, integrity, accountability, and quality workmanship.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check, company-sponsored medical and drug testing, and a five-year driving record review.

Preferred:
  • Technical diploma or trade certification in electrical, mechanical, renewable energy, or a related field.

  • Experience in performing high-voltage electrical switching tasks.

  • Experience supporting substation inspections and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with Siemens Gamesa G90 2.0 MW and G97 2.1 MW wind turbine technology.

  • Experience supporting unscheduled maintenance and asset integrity inspection programs.

  • Extensive understanding of wind turbine control systems and renewable energy operations.

Working Conditions:
  • Climb ladders and stairs up to 80 metres (approximately 300 feet) in height.

  • Work at elevated heights and within turbine nacelles on a regular basis.

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform physically fast-paced tasks.

  • Work safely in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.

  • Travel to other Enbridge renewable energy facilities as required.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support emergency response and operational requirements.

  • Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and outage schedules when necessary.

  • This position is considered safety-sensitive and requires strict adherence to Enbridge safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Salary:
  • Ranges from $29.00 - $34.00 per hour USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.

  • Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
