Position Summary

The Medical Director, USMA Respiratory, will work as part of the Medical Matrix Team responsible for the medical impact of an asset. The Medical Director helps develop the medical strategy and executes MA tactics for a Key Asset.

Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Responsible for helping to develop US medical strategy and perspective, ensuring medical strategy and plans are aligned with commercial asset strategy where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team to tailor / adapt global asset strategy for US specific customer needs and environment. Contribute to strategic oversight of US Tactical Plans aligned to strategy.

  • Gain strategic alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with the overall therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies.

  • Engage with external communities to advance scientific and medical understanding including the appropriate development and use of our medicines, the management of disease, and patient care. Coordinate with the US MSLs, GMAL on joint global and US engagement of top US based EEswhere appropriate.

  • Works to understand the evolving healthcare environment (provider/expert) and payer landscapes and help to translate that working knowledge into a plan.

  • Reviews, synthesizes, and analyses clinical trial and RWE data and translates data into actionable plans at the product level.

  • Develops product strategy for local Medical Advisory Board and Expert Panel meetings and Consultancies, Medical Grants, and Medical Publications.

  • Supports Medical Information on FAQs and standard response letters

  • Follows sound medical governance for all activities.

Basic Qualifications:
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

  • Healthcare Doctorate (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, PA).

  • 5+ Pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical communications industry experience.

  • Experience working in a US healthcare environment.

  • External stakeholder management experience.

  • Experience working in medical affairs accountabilities, evidence generation, external peer-peer HCP engagement and provide internal advice.

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 3-5 years medical affairs, scientific director or medical director, HQ experience.

  • Must demonstrate respiratory experience disease area expertise and appropriate medical and/or clinical experience.

  • Must demonstrate excellent communications skills.

  • Experienced in interacting with all levels of management and staff

  • Enable and drive change - must clearly demonstrate ability to influence to deliver results, proactively look for new opportunities and constantly anticipate the need for change.

  • Continuous improvement - ability to drive and continuously curious in a performance-based culture.

  • Flexible thinking - ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy and gain support of others to implement a vision. Must demonstrate good judgment.

  • Customer focused - ability to understand patient needs and institutional concerns, integrate strategies and build a team that is customer focused.

  • Building relationships - ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately and foster a culture of collaboration.
