Shaner Hotels is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel. This leadership role assists in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, financial performance, and compliance with company policies and franchise standards. The Assistant General Manager plays a key role in developing associates, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring the hotel's success through a hands-on leadership approach.

The ideal candidate is an energetic hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations in accordance with company policies, procedures, and franchise standards.
* Support the achievement of hotel financial goals, budget targets, and profitability objectives.
* Assist in developing both short- and long-range financial objectives consistent with property goals.
* Help maintain payroll, purchasing, and expense controls to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
* Ensure compliance with all Shaner Hotels policies, franchise brand standards, and operating procedures.
* Lead, coach, motivate, and develop associates to promote productivity, accountability, and a positive work environment.
* Maintain a visible presence throughout the hotel and remain accessible to guests and associates.
* Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
* Maintain complete knowledge of hotel amenities, room types, rates, availability, and daily operational activity.
* Assist associates with daily job functions to ensure efficient operations and superior guest service.
* Establish, maintain, and reinforce standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence across all departments.
* Monitor departmental performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Help ensure outstanding results on Shaner Hotels, franchise, quality assurance, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction inspections.
* Support the General Manager with leadership responsibilities during their absence.
* Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as business needs require.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Minimum of one (1) year of hotel management or hospitality leadership experience.
* Clean driving history and valid driver's license.
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
* Working knowledge of hotel budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and cost control principles.
* Strong understanding of hotel operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage (where applicable), and Sales.
* Experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS).
* Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to read, interpret, and implement company policies, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
* Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and operational documentation.
* Ability to communicate effectively with guests, associates, management, and ownership.
* Knowledge of local attractions and community resources that enhance the guest experience.
* Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
