Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on production, engineering, chemical processing, and facility equipment. This role supports equipment associated with gas manifolds, fluid systems, and chemical processing operations while maintaining safe and reliable facility operations. The Maintenance Technician also supports preventive maintenance programs, engineering improvement projects, equipment calibration, emergency response activities, and maintenance documentation.

Job Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoot and repair production, engineering, chemical processing, and facility equipment.
  • Install and modify chemical processing equipment and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment associated with gas manifolds and facility systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs and monitoring and measuring device programs.
  • Review repair data and recommend appropriate preventive maintenance intervals.
  • Review and update maintenance work instructions as needed.
  • Support engineering improvement and construction projects by developing defined project scopes and schedules and coordinating with affected stakeholders.
  • Recommend appropriate spare parts inventory levels.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for required maintenance parts and materials.
  • Perform component rebuilds and equipment calibrations.
  • Understand and follow process flows associated with chemical processing equipment.
  • Perform and validate equipment leak checks.
  • Read and construct systems from P&IDs and engineering drawings.
  • Use computer software to organize and maintain maintenance-related information.
  • Promote safety, organization, and compliance within the maintenance department.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Participate on the emergency response team and emergency response entry team.
  • Follow all work instructions, safety procedures, and applicable protocols.


Job Requirements



  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in the chemical industry or a related fluid systems environment.
  • Experience with gas and pressure system components, including their theory and operation.
  • Ability to read and construct systems from P&IDs and engineering drawings.
  • Basic electronic, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.
  • General mechanical and industrial maintenance skills.
  • Tube bending experience.
  • Ability to perform equipment leak checks and component rebuilds.
  • Ability to perform equipment calibrations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain technical information using computer software.
  • Ability to successfully complete required training.
  • Ability to medically pass required respiratory testing and physical requirements for respirator use.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean-shaven appearance as required for respirator use.
  • Ability to wear a full-face tight-fitting respirator and fully encapsulated Level A emergency response suit, SCBA, SAR, or other required respiratory protection equipment.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.
