Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is a strategic business partner and people-focused resource supporting plant operations, sales locations, leadership, and hourly associates across multiple shifts. This role is responsible for delivering HR programs and services that support organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, talent development, labor relations, recruiting, performance management, compliance, and organizational change. The HR Generalist partners with leaders at all levels to address workforce needs, implement HR initiatives, and align people strategies with business objectives.

Job Responsibilities



  • Partner with plant and sales leadership to provide HR guidance and support across staffing, employee relations, performance management, safety, attendance, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage HR administration activities, including headcount, turnover, exit interviews, attendance tracking, HR reporting, and maintenance of current job descriptions.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and facilitate HR-related training programs, including diversity and inclusion, labor relations, and workplace conduct training.
  • Facilitate safety orientation training and assess additional training needs for plant and sales operations.
  • Administer employee programs, including benefits enrollment, employee surveys, recognition programs, and other engagement initiatives.
  • Respond to employee HR inquiries and provide timely, professional support.
  • Support the development and implementation of positive employee relations programs.
  • Partner with centralized recruiting teams to support salaried recruiting activities for plant and sales locations.
  • Develop and manage annual hourly staffing plans and talent pipelines.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for hourly positions and applicable salaried positions, including interviewing, selection, onboarding, and recruitment documentation.
  • Maintain compliant recruitment files and documentation, including resumes, interview notes, and other required records.
  • Develop and maintain effective onboarding programs aligned with organizational and local requirements.
  • Lead talent management activities, including employee profiles, goal setting, development plans, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Coach leaders and employees on HR practices, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
  • Support organizational transformation initiatives and employee engagement goals.
  • Maintain HR files and I-9 documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Partner with managers to address staffing, hiring, performance, safety, attendance, and employee relations concerns.
  • Coach salaried leaders and participate in meetings with supervisors and hourly employees.
  • Lead annual merit and performance review processes and related communications.
  • Administer and interpret company policies and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Support employment law compliance activities, investigations, grievances, and hearings.
  • Conduct HRIS audits, manage requisitions, and prepare HR metrics and reports.
  • Analyze HR trends and recommend improvements based on workforce data.
  • Support ongoing HR initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR generalist practices, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and HR administration.
  • Experience supporting hourly employees and multiple shifts preferred.
  • Experience with labor relations and collective bargaining agreements preferred.
  • Ability to coach and influence leaders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong change management, organizational consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee and organizational information with discretion.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, HR reporting, and workforce metrics.
  • Knowledge of employment compliance, recruitment documentation, and I-9 requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.


Work Experience



  • 3+ years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
