| Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
Under the direction of the Head Coach, Strength & Conditioning, the Assistant Coach, Strength & Conditioning, will develop and manage effective individual and group strength/conditioning programs for student-athletes participating in UNCW's Division I intercollegiate athletic program.
- Develops sport-specific programming that is scientifically-based, involves periodized/cycled regimens of exercises and drills to optimize strength, power, flexibility, mobility, agility, speed and/or work capacity-designed to enhance sport performance and decrease incidence of non-contact injuries.
- Demonstrates and implements safe, effective and proven exercise techniques at each training session and delivers programs in an organized manner using the field's best practices.
- Adheres to all UNCW, CAA, and NCAA guidelines and provide student-athletes an exceptional collegiate experience while competing for championships.
- Employs effective communication skills to establish relationships and conduct work at a high level with a wide range of constituents (coaches, student-athletes, administrators, etc.).
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act). This position will be required to complete annual training about reporting responsibilities and report Clery crimes that occur within one of three categories of properties: On-Campus property, Non-Campus Property, or Public Property. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning exercise technique.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills along with strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize and instruct groups ranging from 2 to 50 student-athletes at one time.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

NSCA - CSCS. (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and/or CSCCa - SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified). CPR/First Aid Certification.
