ROLE OVERVIEW:

This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year-round.

As a Seasonal Paving Laborer you are responsible to complete various laboring and small equipment operation tasks to produce quality asphalt or concrete paving project. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members. May also flag or operate skid steer, roller, tractor as needed. Assisting in running paving screed.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

Safely perform labor tasks including any of the following:



  1. Measures distance from grade stakes, drive stakes & stretch tight line.
  2. Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade
    specifications.
  3. Levels earth using pick or shovel (Aggregate or asphalt)
  4. Levels blacktop using lute.
  5. Raise manhole covers
  6. Performs flagging duties as needed.
  7. May operate small, powered hand tools
  8. May operate small equipment including bobcat, tractor, or roller or move from one site to another.
  9. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) and operate small equipment, such as bobcat,
    tractor, jackhammer, roller, pickup truck, air compressor, tractor/packer, steel drum or rubber tire roller.
  10. Remove road joints.
  11. Hook up and unhook small trailer to pick-up.
  12. Fill sandbags
  13. Able to operate skid steer for cleanup of materials.
  14. Able to drive truck/skid steer trailer combination to transport skid steers and other equipment and material from site to site (CDL License)
  15. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations . Self-motivated,
    team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
    Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  16. Ensure OSHA, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

As a successful Laborer you will have:



  1. Ability to hold and maintain a valid license in accordance with all state and federal regulations
  2. Ability to operate and maintain equipment
  3. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays

      COMPENSATION:

      Pay range: $22.00 - $28.00 hourly depending on experience.
