Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Performs a variety of cleaning and facility support duties to ensure hospital areas meet cleanliness and safety standards.

Essential Functions

Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork.
Clean walls, ceilings, door panels, windows, window sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish supplies as needed.
Collect and remove debris from around the facility.
Operate high- and low-speed floor care equipment, including stripping and buffing machines.
Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for special events, meetings, and routine hospital activities.
Identify and report building maintenance and repair needs in assigned areas.
Follow established safety, infection prevention, and environmental services procedures.

Qualifications

Previous housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, or related experience preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
Ability to perform physical duties that may include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing equipment throughout the shift.

Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required
