The BNSF RailwayEngineering Departmentis responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the infrastructure of our extensive rail network. This crucial role involves applying advanced engineering principles to address complex challenges, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. Join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of freight transportation and make a significant contribution to one of the top railroads in North America. This is a full-time position located in - North (TBD) Burlington, IA, La Crosse WI, Galesburg, IL and Savana, IL Travelisrequired approximately 50%. Key responsibilities may include: Administer, supervise and coordinateall maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of bridges and structures, both operating and capital functions. Day-to-day and long range planning, budgeting, discipline, safety programs and auditing. Coordinate with other departmentsto ensure a safe and efficient maintenance operation. Address technical training, safety training, follow up on safety issues, maintain contact with field personnel and help enhance overall quality and safety guidelines. Ensure compliance and application of company policies, i.e. BNSF's Equal Employment Policy, applicable safety rules, scheduled agreements, FRA standards and government regulations. Daily workis conducted in an indoor/outdoor safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
