Your Role

As a Senior Technical Designer with Gensler's team in Charlotte you will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase, with a focus on project delivery, technical execution, BIM leadership and building envelope detailing. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models andimages andcan research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise.Your work ethic, combined with your commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler the perfect place to nurture your career. What You Will Do

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents andproduction
  • Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall projectobjectives
  • Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate designconcepts
  • Contribute to project execution, BIM modeling, technical coordination and provide QA/QC support

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • 10+ years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques is preferred
  • Experience with all phases of the design process from schematic design through construction administration, and field observation is preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Revit
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, Enscape, or other 3D modeling software, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices
