Position Summary

The James and Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership (formerly Anderson School of Management) at The University of New Mexico (UNM) is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a warm and professional demeanor to join our Business Operations team as an Administrative Coordinator. Reporting directly to our Admin Operations Manager, the Administrative Coordinator will work within the structure of our Business Operations team but primarily provide administrative support to the Dean's office.

Now is an exciting time to join our team. In May 2026, UNM received a historic $30 million gift from longtime supporters James and Gail Ellis to be directed toward the advancement of business leadership education at UNM. In recognition of their generosity, the Anderson School of Management was renamed The James and Gail Ellis School of Business Leadership.

The successful candidate will have a passion for and proven track record providing outstanding administrative support, a keen eye for details, and a desire and ability to learn.

Specific duties will include:

  • Serving as primary point of contact for the leadership in the Dean's office, greeting and directing visitors, faculty and staff, dealing with administrative inquiries;
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars; scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating meetings, facilities usage, events, and/or travel arrangements, as required.
  • Entering employment transactions through the EPAF system.
  • Purchasing activities for the college, working in a queue system to self-assign tasks as trained.
  • Serving as primary point of contact for room and parking reservations for Ellis.
  • Assisting with administrative activities associated with large-scale events hosted and sponsored by Ellis.
  • Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated track record providing effective administrative support for executive level leadership.
  • Experience managing multiple calendars requiring ability to effectively prioritize requests.
  • Ability to balance strong attention to detail with timeline sensitive work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and methodologies for tracking projects and status.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals at different levels in the organization.
  • Previous experience utilizing a purchase card and/or other business purchasing experience.
