Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications
UHC Minimum:
*Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse
*Minimum 1-year applicable clinic nursing experience
* AHA Healthcare Provider BLS certification

UHC Preferred:
*Bachelors degree preferred
*Experience with electronic practice management and health records.
Position Summary
The Registered Professional Nurse is an integral part of Nursing Services and reports to the Clinic Manager. This position is primarily responsible for providing professional clinical nursing care and patient education to eligible patients. Additionally, this position works closely with nursing staff, clinicians, administrative staff, patients, and their families to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care. In collaboration with the Clinic Lead Physician and interdisciplinary healthcare team members, this position supports the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered healthcare services that promote positive patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.

This is a partial year position off the months of June and July.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Strong clinical nursing skills applicable to ambulatory care setting, including immunization administration, medication administration and IV therapy.
* Knowledge of age specific, developmental, and cultural factors influence patient health and care needs.
* Competency in professional nursing practice, including accurate documentation, critical thinking, communication, and adherence to privacy/confidentiality standards.
* Ability to perform and document patient assessments, triage, nursing interventions, patient education, follow-up care, and patient disposition.
* Ability to coordinate patient care throughout the visit, including arranging referrals and collaborating with other healthcare providers and services.
* Skills in identifying patient learning needs and provide delivering education that addresses the patient's physical, psychological, social, and cultural needs.
* Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Windows.
* Demonstrated basic keyboarding skills.
* Demonstrates professional presentation in dress, grooming, and work habits.
* Demonstrates effective leadership skills and supports UHC mission, vision, and values.
* Exhibits professional knowledge, self-direction, accountability, and the ability to use sound judgment.

Active throughout the 8-hour workday to include typical busy medical office/clinic demands, including walking, standing, sitting, reaching, typing, bending, talking, listening, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Clinical Nursing:
* Practices safe, effective and appropriate clinical nursing in accordance with UHC policies and procedures and within the scope of the RN Nurse Practice Act of Georgia.
* Provides culturally sensitive and age-specific nursing care to patients of the University Health Center.
* Demonstrates the ability to administer medications and IV therapy safely and in accordance with established clinical protocols.
* Performs and documents patient assessments, nursing interventions, education, follow up care, treatment, and services.
* Manage patient flow in the clinic.
* Triages patients and identifies appropriate disposition for care.
* Refers patients to providers and coordinates care throughout the visit and in follow-up to other providers and services.
* Updates patient medical registries as needed.
* Supports the work of other clinic team members including scheduling visits, billing, data entry, ordering, and other clinic and Health Center functions.
* Provides patients with needed information about diagnostic procedures, treatments, and charges as indicated.

* Collaborate with other UHC staff in addressing educational need of patients.
