The initial focus of the position will be decreasing and preventing hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) through process improvement. The future scope will encompass global patient care improvements in the AK region. Hours: Full Time (40 Hours Weekly) Day Shift This position supports the organization's Risk Management/ Patient Safety program through investigation and analysis of potential and actual adverse events, claims, and regulatory compliance and accreditation related occurrences or deficiencies, participation in Root Cause and Intense Analyses, and relevant committee attendance. Performs risk analysis in order to maintain protection of organization's assets; Investigates any incidences that may result in asset loss; and compiles findings in reports for further review, along with actual or potential injury to patients and visitors, collecting information necessary to prepare for defense of claim. The Risk/Patient Safety Specialist develops and administers programs and interventions that support a safe environment and high quality care for patients of PSJH organizations within the Alaska Region.
