Job Summary

The Class B CDLDriver is responsible for safely operating a Class B flatbed truck to deliver materials while supporting warehouse operations. This position consists of approximately 75% driving and 25% warehouse responsibilities, including loading, unloading, stocking, staging, and order pulling. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, customer service, and timely deliveries while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Flatbed experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate a Class B automatic flatbed truck with a gross vehicle weight ranging from approximately 30,000 to 54,000 pounds.
  • Deliver materials according to assigned schedules and delivery routes.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials using proper strapping techniques.
  • Verify delivery directions and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Obtain customer signatures on delivery documentation and verify delivery accuracy.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding delivery status and operational updates.
  • Pick up customer returns and local purchase orders as assigned.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and comply with weight regulations.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed and report maintenance issues, accidents, or vehicle defects promptly.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and move materials.
  • Stock inventory, stage materials, and pull customer orders within the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Provide professional customer service during all deliveries and customer interactions.
  • Support warehouse and branch operations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as required.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating Class B commercial vehicles.
  • Must have held a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for at least one (1) year.
  • Warehouse experience involving stocking, staging, order pulling, or material handling required.
  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift required.
  • Flatbed driving experience preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Electronic logging device (ELD) experience preferred.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain the required state-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification and provide proof.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and secure materials for transport.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
  • Steel-toe work boots are required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
