POLICE OFFICER CIVIL SERVICE TESTING NOTICE The Downingtown Borough Police Department, Chester County, Pennsylvania, is accepting initial employment applications until Friday, August 21, 2026, at 9 a.m., for the position of full-time police officer to fill current vacancies. Initial employment applications may be obtained at Downingtownpolice.org or Downingtown Borough Hall, 4 West Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. All completed initial employment applications must be received by the Downingtown Borough Police Department by Friday, August 21, 2026, at 9: 00 a.m. There is no application fee. Incomplete application packets will be returned to the candidates and may be resubmitted by that same deadline. Applications for any candidates who falsify, intentionally omit, or misrepresent any information either in writing or verbally will be rejected. Candidates must appear for the physical agility testing on Saturday, August 29, 2026. After their initial employment application is received, applicants will be scheduled for a morning time slot between 7: 30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Candidates who pass the physical agility test may take the written exam on the same day at 1: 00 p.m. The physical agility test will be held at the rear of Downingtown STEM Academy, 335 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA, near Kottmeyer Stadium. Dress in workout clothes is recommended. Candidates must present valid photo identification on the day of the test and have completed the Waiver of Liability. Candidates who pass the physical agility exam may take the written exam on the same day, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1: 00 p.m., at the Downingtown STEM Academy, 335 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA. Candidates must present a valid photo identification on the day of the test.
