Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will join the Firm's IT implementation and engineering team, which designs, builds, and delivers the Firm's IT systems and services with an emphasis on cloud, automation, and artificial intelligence. This position focuses on analyzing, deploying, and optimizing these systems to maximize Firm-wide productivity and minimize disruptions. The engineer will help maintain a culture of superior client service and continuous improvement.

Job Functions:

  • Supports the design, development, implementation, and migration of the Firm's cloud and on-premises IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Builds, configures, and maintains the Firm's IT environments, including cloud resources, cloud applications, and AI systems and agents.
  • Works closely with the Enterprise Architecture Manager to:
    • Deliver and support solutions across the full lifecycle, including continuous improvement.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain operational and technology strategies, policies, and standards.
    • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures, including regular reviews and real-world tests.
  • Collects and analyzes core system metrics and partners with stakeholders across the Firm to improve IT processes and the security and performance of existing systems.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operational issues.
  • Research and evaluates new technologies, recommending and implementing solutions that make operations more efficient.
  • Participates in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule to support deployments and systems the team maintains, including handling Tier 3 escalations and problem triage.
  • Provides day-to-day coverage during Eastern Time (ET) business hours.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of related IT experience with a particular focus on supporting business-critical IT infrastructure in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft, cloud, and networking certifications are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services, virtualization, and networking.
  • Experience with deployment, configuration, and management of systems using automation.
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or comparable languages, with experience leveraging REST APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
  • Exposure to designing, deploying, and operating AI agents and agentic workflows, including tool/function calling, orchestration, and integration with enterprise systems.
  • The ideal candidate will also have proven experience working with several of the technologies currently in use at the Firm, including:
    • Microsoft Azure (incl. Networking, DNS, Virtual Desktop)
    • Microsoft Entra ID (incl. Enterprise Applications, Single Sign-On, Conditional Access)
    • AI systems (Claude, Copilot, Legal-specific applications)
    • Data governance (incl. Microsoft Purview, Litera CAM)
    • Containerization (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
    • Version control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, pipeline automation, DevOps practices)
    • Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform)
    • Server operating systems (Windows, Linux)
    • Databases (Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL)
    • Certificate management (ACME, DigiCert)
    • Network monitoring and management platforms
  • Demonstrated analytical capability in solving new and complex problems.
  • Effective in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-starter who works independently, with the judgment to know when to seek guidance.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete diverse assignments on a timely basis.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including the ability to assess systems and produce clear technical documentation.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
