Summary

Data Center Security Engineer with experience in physical security operations, access management systems, and third-party risk oversight.

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer to join our Data Center security team as an individual contributor. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our rapidly scaling Data Center infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in operations, including both general data center operations and physical security operations. They should be capable of defining a clear mid-to-long term vision in this space based on strategic business priorities, driving and supporting cross-functional projects and programs, and influencing partners to prioritize and execute against critical security initiatives.

The successful candidate should have deep knowledge and experience across many of the following core areas:

  • Guard force contracting and management
  • Alarm acknowledgement and response
  • Incident response and management
  • Secure operations
  • Process and procedure standardization and optimization
  • Business continuity



Required Qualifications / Skillset

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure operations management.
  • Broad knowledge across physical security and risk management.
  • Expert in developing and administering secure operational processes.
  • General understanding of incident response, business continuity, operational continuity, and disaster recovery, along with security's role in these processes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Experience identifying and communicating clear operational security requirements to inform and empower execution-focused teams and personnel.
  • Experience building relationships with cross-functional partners and business leaders.



Preferred Certifications

Relevant security certifications such as:

  • CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
  • PSP (Physical Security Professional)
  • PCI (Professional Certified Investigator)
  • CC
  • CISP
  • Other equivalent security certifications



Business Group & Key Projects

Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Engineer to join its Data Center Security team as an individual contributor. This role supports the security and integrity of Client's rapidly expanding Data Center infrastructure and operations.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert across both general data center operations and physical security operations while helping define long-term operational strategy based on business priorities. The individual will drive and support cross-functional initiatives and influence partners to execute critical security programs across the organization.

Typical Day in the Role

Primary Responsibilities

  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Monitor, assess, and communicate regulatory changes, emerging compliance risks, and industry trends to key partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist business, Compliance, and other control function partners in responding to client escalations by conducting research, compiling findings, and presenting recommendations as required.
  • Remain current on emerging trends and developments, both within local regions and globally, affecting the regulatory and security environment.
  • Support physical security operations across Client's data center infrastructure.
  • Develop and administer secure operational processes.
  • Support guard force management and third-party security operations.
  • Assist with alarm monitoring, acknowledgement, and response processes.
  • Participate in incident response and incident management activities.
  • Drive process standardization and operational improvements.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to deliver security initiatives.
  • Influence operational teams to prioritize and execute critical security programs.
