THE ROLE:

AMD's Strategic Silicon Solutions groupis responsible forcustom silicon for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As aPost-SiliconPower andPerformance ValidationEngineer you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meetpower andperformance targets and areoptimizedfor customer use cases.You will interact with architecture,firmware, driver, and other teams todeveloptest plansfornew product features, execute studiesin a lab environment, and analyze datatovalidate thatthe product meets specifications.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will haveexperience in power or performance attainment offeatures of CPU, GPU, or APUs.This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developtest plansin collaborationwitharchitects, firmware, andIP-specific engineering teams to ensure products meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Work with architects and the business team to supportcurrent and potential future products.
  • Execute power and performance studies to support business development.
  • Validate and tune product features post-silicon.
  • Set upand debug systems under test.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experiencevalidatingpower or performance featuresofCPUs, GPUs, or APUs.
  • Familiarity withgraphics, core, and gaming-focused workloads.
  • Familiarity with theuse ofdata acquisitionand thermal equipment.
  • Experience analyzingand presentingdatausing Power BI, Sigma, or similar.
  • Experience working in afast-paced,matrixed,and multi-site technical organization.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor'sor Master's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ComputerScienceor equivalent experience.
