We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a pay rate of $25/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Summary:
- NAFTPD Field Assistants are responsible for assisting in all facets of field research.
- Team members will aid with an array of outdoor field duties and some indoor lab duties.
- Successful applicants must be self-motivated individuals with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- This position requires the ability to perform repetitive job tasks accurately.
- Field labor activities occur outdoors for long periods of time with exposure to the elements.
- Team members may need to drive company vehicles during work hours.
- Compliance with company and USDA-APHIS trainings and policies is required.
- Weekend work and extended hours may be required during the peak seasons.
- Individuals may also be responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance of farm/research equipment in assigned areas.
Outdoor Field Responsibilities include:
Assisting with planting, staking research plots, pollinating, data collection using electronic devices, research plot maintenance, weeding, hand harvest, process improvement projects, preventive maintenance of equipment, aiding with spraying, and other special projects.
Skills/Experience:
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written tasks and safety instructions delivered in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Experience with or ability to learn Microsoft Office and iOS devices for data collection.
- Ability to perform repetitive job tasks accurately.
- Past pesticide application experience is desirable but not required.
