Job Summary:
We are seeking a Department Research Administrator to provide proposal and award management support to designated engineering units. Core duties of this role include proposal development, award setup, award management and closeout. Additionally, this position will work with Principal Investigators (PIs), Key Personnel and research staff to develop nontechnical and budgetary proposal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with sponsor, state and university requirements, administrative management of awards, and closeout/ reporting. A successful candidate will be skilled in time management, attention to detail, and collaborative work, as well can adapt to varied workflows and department cultures. This position is part of the College of Engineering Research Services Team and reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Research Administration. The College of Engineering has 8 academic departments and over 30 centers that annually submit over 800 proposals resulting in approximately $140 million in awards and close to $130 million in research expenditures. Manages research administration activities from proposal preparation through closeout on behalf of a unit. Reviews and approves proposal submissions, contract negotiations, project setups, compliance, and/or financial reporting. Develops and oversees implementation of operations and strategic planning to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within a school/college/division/unit. Additional Information:
College of Engineering, Research Administration Compensation:The starting salary for the position is $75,000, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications:
