MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate level: Qualified candidates must be either an MPH or an MS Epidemiology student at SUNY Albany's College of Integrated Health Sciences; AND must have completed at least 24 credits of coursework toward their degree including at least four of the core courses; AND must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better AND are unable to participate in an internship if on academic probation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
??Demonstrated excellent written communication skills. The student should be proficient with SAS, Microsoft Word and Excel

RESPONSIBILITIES:
??Under the supervision of a senior research scientist, the student will conduct an initial literature review to summarize the existing knowledge base around gestational diabetes and identify gaps in knowledge. The student will also become familiar with statewide surveillance systems (for example, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System) used to estimate gestational diabetes prevalence and conduct analyses to document the burden and distribution across New York State. Upon completing the analysis, the student will prepare a data report summarizing key findings and present the results to program partners working on strategies to prevent and manage gestational diabetes. ?

Hourly, grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
