Location Profile:

Located in Wilder, KY and founded in 1946, Andrews Laser Works specializes in the fabrication of complex assemblies from Inconel, steel, aluminum, and titanium sheet with a core competency in aero engine brackets and components. Position Summary:

The Group Lead, in addition to performing normal duties in their job classifications, takes a leadership role guiding and directing work to a team of an assigned work area. Daily and weekly instruction and priorities are established and communicated by direct supervisor.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and distribute work in group by order schedule
  • Coordinate workflow to meet daily production goals
  • Report status of jobs to Supervisor at least daily
  • Effectively utilize personnel skillsets in finishing to complete work efficiently
  • Serve as pro-active employee support to team members. This includes but is not limited to ensuring all employees in Finishing have the proper PPE, tooling, and work instructions
  • Ensure all 6S initiatives are understood and completed by all Finishing Employees
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties of greater or lesser complexity as required by the position or assigned by supervision
  • Operate equipment and complete normal job duties when not engaged in Lead activities. (Lead duties should not consume more than 20% of time)
  • Occasional travel required for training

Required Skills:

  • Computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attendance and dependability

Required Experience:

  • Minimum One Year of experience in the Finishing department

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
