About the Role

AVIAN is seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Strategic Communication Specialist to provide support to a Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) government customer. You will join a communication team in creating communication and multimedia products for internal and external audiences. Exceptional attention to detail and appetite for innovation are musts.

You will join AVIAN's cadre of creative professionals who specialize in strategic communication, graphic design, marketing, multimedia production and more. Our creative team supports each other through constructive peer reviews, shares professional resources and regularly gathers for continuing education sessions.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

    Develop responses, provide planning, manage, and brief the findings in response to Congressional, Department of Defense (DoD), other Government agencies, media, industry inquiries and audits.
  • Coordinate with the Program Executive Office public affairs officer to facilitate communications between the media, squadrons, industry partners, NAVAIR IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) and other agencies by providing specialized communications.
  • Create, maintain and implement communications plans.
  • Advise leadership on program messaging.
  • Produce and deliver effective internal and external stakeholder communications using the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite as well as other current industry software.
  • Craft content for briefs; communications plans and crisis media response planning; media query responses; key messages; press releases; feature articles; award packages; talking points/speeches; social media posts; etc.
  • Support public relations to include, but not limited to senior leadership interview preparation, media training, event planning/coordination, protocol activities, and engage in promoting or creating an intended public image for individuals, groups, or organizations.
  • Design multimedia products to include, but not limited to infographics, illustrations, logos/branding, web content development, wireframe and web page mockups, prototyping, publication design, fact sheets, photography, digital image editing, museum-quality wall displays, tradeshow displays and coordination.
  • Candidate must be a flexible team player and self-starter possessing excellent organizational skills. The ideal individual will have the ability to function in a team environment or autonomously, manage competing priorities, and be able to meet critical project schedules.
  • Selected candidate must be able to handle several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel occasionally is preferred.
  • This is a hybrid position.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • MA/MS degree plus 13 years work experience performing duties described in responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Master's Degree.

Desired Experience:

  • Two years of experience supporting NAVAIR.
  • Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Salary range: $105,000 - $115,000 (The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.)
