Job Purpose and Overview
Asa MachineOperator II, you will work withmultiple ingredientsto cook/mixbatchesof our product(s)using a specified formula/recipe.
What Does It Take to be aMachine Operator IIat Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience cooking or mixingingredients in industrial size kettlespreferred and/or ability to learn
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability towriteroutine reports
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problem solving in variable situations
- Must be able to work well with others or independently
- Forklift certified is helpful, and must be able to become certified
- Strong computer skills - ability to control the machine computer operations
- Ability to master skills in all departments, including mix, pre-scale,packand seal.
WhatWillYouDo as aMachine Operator IIat Dawn Foods?
- Empty rawingredients intomixeror kettle atappropriatestageof mixing/cooking performula.Follow instructions to complete the cooking / mixing process.
- Assure all product produced meets the product specifications, foodsafetyand regulatory requirements
- Establishhigh performancestandards in housekeeping,in accordance withGood Manufacturing Practices (GMP), American Institute of Baking (AIB), International Food Standard (IFS) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements
- Responsible for theaccurateoperation of computer system asrequiredin production processes
- Operate auxiliary equipment as needed for each respective function
- Operate in a safe manner according to manual,trainingand batch card instructions to ensure high quality and food safe product
- Responsible for all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP's) and GMP to include pre-start check lists, scale checks, forklift check list, code dates on labels, lot numbers on formulas, and batch verification counts, etc.
- Responsible for communicating to lead or supervisor any quality, safety, scheduling and food safety issues within their department or the plant
- Responsible formaintainingworkstation and keeping it clean and organized
- Perform all the above tasks in a safe manner by following company GMP's, SOP's and safety regulations
- Assistin training new team members
- Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Temperature fluctuates with the season - colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
- Working around heavy machinery - hearing protection required in production area
