Job Description

Job Summary

The Fulfillment Supervisor directs the daily activities of the Fulfillment department to ensure customer orders, pick-and-pack work, product sample kitting, and related projects are completed safely, accurately, on time, and within established productivity and quality expectations. The role combines front-line leadership, production planning, staffing coordination, shipping knowledge, and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

* Plan and coordinate daily fulfillment work, including line preparation, staffing assignments, schedules, priorities, and deadlines.

* Lead and motivate employees, line leads, crewing coordinators, equipment operators, and temporary staff; provide training, coaching, performance feedback, and recommendations regarding hiring or corrective action.

* Monitor production output, labor hours, productivity, quality, waste, and schedule attainment; identify and document barriers when expected standards or completion times are not achieved.

* Oversee department production boards, master schedules, and SQDC boards; review performance and priorities with operations leadership and cross-functional teams.

* Ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met, including review and approval of samples and prompt resolution of production or technical issues.

* Coordinate shipping and order-processing requirements for USPS, FedEx, LTL, and international shipments.

* Maintain compliance with company safety policies, housekeeping expectations, and powered industrial vehicle requirements; ensure employees are properly trained before operating equipment.

* Coordinate department supplies, equipment needs, and temporary labor requirements while supporting cost control and continuous-improvement initiatives.

* Communicate job status, material needs, risks, and schedule changes across departments and shifts; participate in applicable production and management meetings.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business, manufacturing, operations, or a related field preferred.

* Five or more years of experience in fulfillment, bindery, manufacturing, distribution, or a related production environment, including at least one year in a supervisory or lead role.

* Working knowledge of production planning, staffing, quality control, shipment requirements, and workflow coordination.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, Google Workspace, and general production or business systems.

* Strong written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, and employee-leadership skills.

* Ability to work additional hours or other shifts when required by production schedules.

Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to work in a production and warehouse environment, move throughout the department, use required personal protective equipment, and operate a powered industrial vehicle when trained and authorized.

RRD's current salary range for this role is $64,000 to $98,400 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future.At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
