The Spirit of the Position:

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Human Resources team with projects and initiatives across talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and learning & development. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant leadership culture, the Human Resources Coordinator will support the programs and initiatives originating from our home office and help to support the individual needs of their operational teams throughout their assigned region.The Human Resources Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day transactions for the assigned operation including administrative support for Chicago operations team.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Partners with HR leaders on projects such as training coordination, compliance audits, and process improvement.
  • Organize and maintain employee files in a timely manner; ensure all required documentation is obtained and up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure coordination of all time off requests, payroll discrepancy requests, and entry of new hires, terminations and status changes are processed accurately and timely.
  • Facilitate and resolve policy and employee relations issues within the LAZ Chicago operation according to company policy with direction from the Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Maintaining compliance with all local, state and federal laws for LAZ Chicago; updating forms, policies, procedures as needed in coordination with the home office and the Human Resources Director.
  • Manage leaves of absence for the LAZ Chicago operation including FMLA, disability leaves, others as needed in coordination with the home office HR and payroll.
  • Maintain, update, and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as assigned.
  • Provide support to our Revenue Coordinators by answering incoming calls and assisting vendors as needed.
  • Other related duties and projects assigned by the Human Resources Business Partner.
  • Support the Human Resources Business Partner in Benefit Billing, Auditing and compliance.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • 2+ years in an administrative support role within Human Resources is required.
  • Human Resources within the union environment highly preferred.
  • Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

Skills (Required)

  • Excellent Excel, Word, Power Point and General Microsoft Office Applications skills.
  • Knowledge of an Applicant Tracking System is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent phone, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
  • Must be open to feedback, differing opinions and other points of view.
  • Demonstrates the ability to seek improvement.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.
  • Excellent teambuilding and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.
