What You'll Do:

• Lead the research and development of functional and technical specifications, production, and test environments, including architecture, design, and solution development.
• Develop comprehensive plans for proof-of-concept initiatives and validate new technologies and solutions.
• Create and maintain tools and processes essential for gathering detailed user requirements.
• Actively participate in strategic planning discussions with technical, business, and client stakeholders, shaping future directions.
• Identify and address gaps in processes and services across various environments to enhance efficiency.
• Review programming and environment changes, proactively raising awareness for potential impacts.
• Utilize programming tools effectively and efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Architect and develop innovative solutions that align seamlessly with the organization's overarching vision.
• Engage actively in product design and development sessions, contributing your expertise.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced Programmer/Analysts, fostering team growth.
• Develop architectural diagrams and documentation, write high-quality software code, and create automated test scripts.
• Produce efficient, clear, and easy-to-follow technical documentation.
• Serve as a crucial liaison between technical and non-technical counterparts, ensuring seamless communication.
• Leverage AI assistance for common development tasks, such as code suggestions, test generation, review support, automation scripts, and troubleshooting, while maintaining clear ownership for correctness and quality.
• Apply Generative AI to reduce context switching and accelerate delivery across typical workflows, including but not limited to new code development.
• Demonstrate practical familiarity with leading AI coding tools within IDE/CLI-style workflows.
• Possess working knowledge of agentic workflows, spec-driven development (translating low-level design artifacts into structured specs for AI-assisted implementation), and custom instructions and prompt engineering, with the ability to establish team-level practices for effective AI-assisted development.

What You Bring:

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST, SOAP) supporting high-volume transactions in a highly available environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Generative AI coding assistants used across day-to-day engineering workflows in the SDLC-including implementation, refactoring, unit testing, regression support, code reviews, scripting/automation, troubleshooting, and documentation-while applying sound engineering judgment and validation.
• Practical familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code is expected.
• 2+ years of prior experience with ETL jobs or data pipelines and messaging frameworks.
• 1+ years of experience with continuous build processes using tools like Bamboo, Git, or similar.
• 1+ years of experience with Cloud Foundry, AWS, or GCP.
• 1+ years' experience working with distributed databases like MongoDB, Aerospike, Yugabyte, or PostgreSQL.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• 1+ years of prior experience in IT transformations and system modernization initiatives, migrating from legacy to distributed platforms (e.g., Mainframe applications to Java applications).
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (e.g., Jira).
• Experience with the .NET framework and programming tools (e.g., Visual Studio) and C#.
• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Experience in Test Driven Development.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems creatively.
• Ability to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including offshore teams, and manage offshore development activities.
• Ability to effectively engage subject matter experts and understand complex technical topics.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and business experts.
• Willingness and ability to learn all aspects of test data management and associated tools.
• Ability to research and document production and test environments, along with architecture and design work.
• Proficient in developing diagrams, architectural and design documentations, functional and technical specifications, and automated test processes.
