In the Advanced Technology Services (ATS) group at SkyWater, our team works hand in hand with customers to develop a wide range of exciting new, novel, and fully customized technologies - including superconducting ICs, quantum computing devices, carbon nanotube devices, MEMs, Bio sensors, DNA sequencing devices, Si photonics, and III-V devices.

Join our dynamic team as a Process Development Engineer to lead the development of new, novel technologies and leverage the advanced capabilities of our semiconductor fab to enable our customers to progress from idea/proof of concept through product qualification and transfer to volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop, integrate, and qualify wafer processes across diffusion, films, litho, etch, and CMP areas.
  • Create and own wafer process flows using combination of automated recipes and custom work instructions (RSCs)
  • Run DOEs and apply SPC to set control limits and improve yield and Cpk.
  • Qualify tools and chemistries through management of ECNs and PM plans
  • Track customer WIP and resolve processing issues to maintain schedule.
  • Partner with design team to advise on layouts, frames, metrology features, and test structures.
  • Define metrology and sampling and maintain fab SOPs and specs.
  • Lead investigations in instances of misprocessing and report status to customers/stakeholders.
  • Uphold EHS compliance for process and chemical safety.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, equipment, and general manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience applying SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and thought processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a large, cross-functional program environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems.
  • U.S. Person Required: This position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in engineering discipline.
  • Exposure to various aspects of semiconductor manufacturing processes.

The annual salary range for this role is $69,040 - $103,560. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
