From CFO advisory and audit prep to grants management and succession
planning, Forvis Mazars takes a collaborative, hands-on approach
that aligns with each client's unique mission.
What You Will Do:
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of financial, accounting, and compliance consulting projects, with a primary focus on nonprofit organizations.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management, including planning, execution, and supervision of engagements related to process improvement, operational assessments, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Review and support accounting outsourcing services, including:
    • Preparation of general ledger entries and financial statements
    • Month-end and year-end close processes
    • Account and bank reconciliations
    • Audit readiness and support
  • Conduct operational and financial assessments of clients' grants management, finance functions, internal controls, and related policies and procedures.
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial and operational policies and procedures tailored to client needs.
  • Participate in evaluations of Federal and State grant compliance, as well as other regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, managing communication, scheduling, and relationship development.
  • Perform industry and technical research to support the development of innovative client solutions
  • Leverage technology and best practices to enhance internal project workflows and client deliverables.
  • Support business development efforts, including lead qualification, proposal development, and client relationship expansion.
  • Utilize tools such as Outlook and social media platforms for client communications, including email campaigns and content distribution.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage junior staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality project delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in nonprofit accounting, public accounting and/or consulting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Background in consulting, nonprofit financial leadership (CFO level), or public accounting
  • Current and valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license
