As a Registered Nurse within the Intermediate Care Unit (Medical Unit V) at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, you will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across our organization. The IMCU is a 31-bed unit designed to care for patients whose clinical needs exceeds what a general medical surgical unit can safely provide but do not require the full resources of an intensive care unit. Our IMCU cares for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions requiring closer monitoring including but not limited to: continuous pulse oximetry monitoring, telemetry monitoring, frequent neurological assessments and frequent vital signs. The patient population may include patients with multiple medical diagnoses and/or multi-system medical conditions, pre- and post-surgical/procedural needs, or those transitioning from an ICU level of care. To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire. National Board Certification and ACLS Certification is preferred or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Prior 2-3 years of RN experience within acute care is highly preferred and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position offers a Part-Time Night Shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday - Friday with weekend and holiday rotations, 36 hours per week, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
