We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our PISA DevOps team in Alexandria, VA. This is an amazing opportunity to work on several growing products in the Clarivate Intellectual Property Group. We would love to speak with you if you have experience in providing technical guidance by promoting excellence for Cloud and DevOps practices!

About You - Requirements for Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, software engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

  • At least 5+ years managing systems in a large-scale production environment.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, utilizing GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent tools.

  • At least 5+ years of experience supporting Cloud Computing based services, preferably AWS.

  • At least 5 years of experience in deploying, managing, and scaling containerized applications using Kubernetes or similar tool.

  • At least5 years of experience in managing and provisioning Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

  • At least5 years of relevant professional software development/scripting experience using Python, Bash or similar language.

  • At least5 years of proven experience implementing GitHub Copilot or building workflows with AI agents, LLM API's.

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder with an active Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

It would be great if you also had . . .

  • Proven experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, ECS, EMR, EBS, RDS, CloudFront, etc.) OR with other similar cloud platform services.

  • AWS Cloud Certification and/or Kubernetes Certification, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, GitHub Actions Certification.

  • Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring observability tool.

  • Ability to support database servers like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL.

  • Cloud Security experience to include vulnerability detection and remediation, access hardening, and automated security scanning and dependency management in GitHub workflows.

  • Software Engineering experience in a higher-level language such as Java or C++.

  • Ability to create project plans, budgets, presentations, and documentation involving different products and teams.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Product Roadmap - Solutioning new deployments and product enhancements while maintaining existing systems to includefunctionality, performance and security.

  • Pipeline Engineering - Orchestrating and overseeing the implementation and maintenance of tools and infrastructure critical to the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Developer Support - Interact with the software development organization, gathering build requirements, providing status updates, and delivering DevOps assigned tasks.

  • Observability & Monitoring - Monitor/measure the efficacy of the automation infrastructure and implement logging, metrics and alerting systems using tools like Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, GitHub metrics, etc.

  • Security & Compliance - Reduce security vulnerabilities across assigned systems and support required compliance certifications, ISO-27001, SOC2 Type I & II.

  • AI Integration - Design, implement and optimize AI agentic services, leverage GitHub Copilot and pursue workflow automation enhancements.

  • Infrastructure as Code - Manage and provision services using Terraform and support the creation and maintenance of source control systems using GitHub.

  • DevOps Practices - Maintain consistent documentation, runbooks for all assigned tasks and ensure seamless cross-team knowledge sharing.

These innovative platforms support the entire lifecycle of patent management, from initial search to strategic analysis, ensuring users stay ahead in the competitive landscape of intellectual property.

Hours of Work

  • This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within US EST time zone.

  • This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to work from our Alexandria, VA office 2 days every week and must live within a reasonable commutable distance to the office.We can also consider our Philadelphia, PA office
