Responsibilities

Adversaries don't just target our networks - they target our people, our programs, and our supply chains. Peraton is looking for a Counterintelligence Specialist to help USCYBERCOM J2X stay ahead of those threats at Fort Meade, MD.

In this role, you'll operate at the strategic and proactive edge of the CI mission - collaborating with internal and external partners to build a common operating picture, informing the development of advanced CI concepts, and supporting the full spectrum of CI functions from risk assessments to insider threat programs. This is a senior, certification-required role for professionals who have spent careers mastering the art and science of counterintelligence - and are ready to apply that expertise at one of the most targeted commands in the U.S. government.

What You'll Do
    Collaborate with internal and external CI partners to develop a holistic understanding and common operating picture of CI activities across USCYBERCOM J2X
  • Assess large, diversified data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform CI activities and threat assessments
  • Build comprehensive analytical pictures of data sets to support development of advanced CI concepts, principles, and techniques
  • Inform the design and implementation of advanced CI concepts and proactive CI strategies
  • Ensure colleagues, team members, and leadership remain well-informed on the status and disposition of relevant CI products and associated activities
  • Maintain eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAPs) and/or Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCMs)
  • Support CI risk assessments, supply chain risk assessments, and CI support to Research, Development, and Acquisition (RDA)
  • Support CI agent or desk officer functions across CI collection, functional services, investigations, and operations
  • Counter espionage, international terrorism, and CI insider threats
  • Support force protection and Defense Critical Infrastructure Program (DCIP) activities

Qualifications

What You Bring

Required:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance with Polygraph
  • Eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAPs) and/or ACCMs - must be maintained throughout the period of performance
  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Demonstrated experience and advanced training in CI principles, techniques, and operations
  • Working knowledge of IC/DoD classification guidelines and CI oversight requirements
  • Ability to assess large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting CI operations or serving as a counterintelligence desk officer
  • Background in CI risk assessments, supply chain risk assessments, or CI support to RDA
  • Demonstrated experience supporting at least two of the four CI missions: countering espionage/terrorism/insider threat; force protection; Defense Critical Infrastructure Protection (DCIP); RDA support
  • Familiarity with SAP and ACCM program management and oversight requirements
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, including work within the last 2 years
  • Master's degree in a related field - or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 additional years of senior-level experience (17 years total)
  • Advanced counterintelligence certification demonstrating expertise in integrating and cultivating strategic and proactive CI concepts

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
