| Position Summary |
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for managing the Office of Alumni Relation's young alumni engagement efforts, oversees the Young Alumni Council, and partners with the Division of Development & Alumni Relations (
DAR) and campus colleagues to increase young alumni philanthropic engagement. The Assistant Director manages volunteer training sessions, recruits volunteer leaders, and leads the marketing effort in collaboration with university departments to develop a multifaceted and representative ambassador group and strengthen the pipeline for young alumni giving. This position implements and executes plans to engage targeted alumni groups at the university to increase young alumni engagement through strategic outreach in partnership with councils and affinity groups.
This position also works collaboratively with the
DAR Annual Giving and Development teams, and the Donor Engagement and Stewardship team, to steward and retain young alumni donors, mobilizing the Young Alumni Council to strategically enhance fundraising and stewardship efforts, along with supporting the successful alignment of the strategies, programs, and management of alumni volunteer group within the office of alumni relations. |

Volunteer Engagement and Management
- Develop strategy and annual goals for targeted young alumni engagement initiatives by overseeing the management, planning, implementation, and follow-up of alumni volunteer needs, specifically needs pertaining to the Young Alumni Council; Plan and implement Young Alumni Council membership efforts to ensure council members are equipped to serve as peer-to-peer ambassadors to help advance the philanthropic mission of the University and the Division of Development & Alumni Relations (DAR), along with supporting Alumni Relations' engagement goals; Responsible for training and coaching council leaders; Oversee quarterly young alumni council specific sessions.
- Participate in volunteer recruitment, utilizing established protocols to identify, qualify, and help engage alumni volunteers, advocates, and prospective donors through relationship-building and strategic outreach with a focus on in person visits.
- Provide staff support to identified volunteers on the UGA Alumni Board of Directors and committees; assist with board activities as assigned.

- Manage strategy to increase philanthropic engagement among young alumni to the Young Alumni Finish the Drill Scholarship; Partner with DAR colleagues, Alumni Relations team members, and campus departments to strategically identify and implement pathways to increase engagement among young alumni at the university; Use data to drive decision making processes and identification of targets for young alumni participation and engagement; Assist division colleagues in meeting key metrics for young alumni participation and involving the young alumni council in university wide fundraising efforts.
