Department Overview The Office of the President provides leadership and support for the University of Virginia's highest institutional priorities. UVA is beginning a comprehensive strategic planning process under President Beardsley's leadership. The strategic planning process, supported from the Office of the President and guided by a faculty-led strategic planning committee to advise the President, will involve University leaders, faculty, staff, students, the Board of Visitors, and other stakeholders. The strategic planning process will assess UVA's current state, engage broadly across the UVA community, gather and analyze stakeholder input, and establish a fully developed institutional strategic plan. The resulting plan will guide implementation, evaluation, and progress monitoring across the University moving forward. To support this work, the Office of the President is establishing a strategic analysis team that will provide research, analysis, project management, and executive decision support for University strategic planning, presidential priorities and strategic initiatives. Position Summary The Office of the President is seeking a Presidential Strategic Leadership Fellow to join its strategic analysis team. This is a high-impact, two-year limited-term opportunity for recent UVA graduate or professional degree recipients with demonstrated experience in analytics, project management, problem identification, data visualization, artificial intelligence tools, and workflow design. The Fellow will function as an internal consultant and project manager, supporting institutional analysis, strategic planning, executive decision-making, and the design of University-wide initiatives that are presidential priorities. They will conduct research, analyze complex information, structure ambiguous problems, develop dashboards and presentations, coordinate cross-functional work groups, and provide recommendations to senior University leaders. The strategic analysis team will work closely with the executive vice presidents' offices, Institutional Research and Analytics, the UVA Wise Chancellor's Office, UVA Health Strategic Planning, University schools and units, and other institutional partners to ensure data integrity, coordination, and alignment.
