THE POSITION

Are you interested in working in a fun, creative and professional environment that is the leader in organizing/creating training and education programs to address current trends in substance use and gambling disorders in PA? If so, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Program's Training Section is the place for you! As the lead logistical and customer service representative for the administration of educational programming across the commonwealth, you help support statewide training efforts that strengthen services for substance use disorder professionals. Your work keeps important projects organized and running smoothly. This is a great opportunity to grow your administrative skills while contributing to meaningful statewide initiatives.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides administrative support to the Training Section by organizing surveys, preparing reports, coordinating course materials, and assisting with statewide training processes. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Survey Support: Disseminate survey tools, collect responses, and organize data for reporting
  • Course Materials: Maintain course catalogs and files to ensure training resources remain current
  • Instructor Review: Examine instructor credentials and prepare required documents for contracting
  • Audit Coordination: Manage audit schedules, track results, and support corrective actions
  • LMS Assistance: Serve as a point of contact for Learning Management System inquiries and provide user support
  • Training Logistics: Arrange venues, materials, equipment, and supplies for in person training sessions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, two days a week in the office and for special events. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
