Our Ecuador nearshore team operates on Central Time with zero-lag collaboration to US leadership and clients. No overnight handoffs. Real-time decisions made together.
About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Business Analyst to bridge business intent and technical delivery on multi-track enterprise modernization programs. You will own requirements elicitation, process analysis, and story quality across your delivery track. You will work directly with US-based business stakeholders and engineering leaders to translate discovery findings into sprint-ready scope, and serve as the track's quality gate on what gets built.
Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Lead requirements elicitation sessions with client business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements and technical discovery findings into well-formed user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Own and groom the requirements backlog in JIRA in partnership with the PM/PO. Maintain traceability from business need to delivered story.
- Steward the Definition of Ready for every story entering a sprint. Reject stories that lack sufficient clarity before they consume engineering capacity.
- Write functional specifications, process flows, and data mapping documents for integration and migration workloads.
- Conduct current-state process analysis (AS-IS) and define target-state models (TO-BE) for business and integration workflows.
- Identify gaps between legacy system behavior and cloud-native target architecture. Document and prioritize gap-remediation requirements.
- Map B2B data flows, EDI transaction sets, and partner onboarding requirements into deliverable scope.
- Support data migration analysis: field mapping, transformation rules, data quality validation criteria.
- Participate in sprint planning, refinement, review, and retrospective ceremonies. Represent requirements quality in every ceremony.
- Validate delivered stories against acceptance criteria before sprint review. Reduce rework by catching gaps early.
- Maintain living documentation: process maps, decision logs, open-items trackers, and requirements change history.
- Facilitate working sessions with client SMEs and business owners to reach requirements agreement on contested scope.
- Communicate requirements decisions, open items, and scope tradeoffs in clear business language.
- Represent North Highland at every client touchpoint, from refinement sessions to executive business reviews
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of business analysis experience on software delivery programs.
- Proven track record writing user stories and acceptance criteria for distributed systems, integration platforms, or B2B data exchange workloads.
- Strong written and verbal English. Daily direct collaboration with US-based business stakeholders and engineering leaders.
- Experience conducting process analysis (AS-IS / TO-BE) and gap assessment on enterprise modernization or migration programs.
- Hands-on proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and modern BA tooling (process mapping, wireframing, data modeling).
- Working fluency reading technical artifacts (APIs, data models, sequence diagrams, ADRs) sufficient to lead requirements conversations with senior engineers.
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery environments with milestone-gated, fixed-fee engagements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Distribution, supply-chain, food-and-beverage, or grocery industry background.
- Experience with financial / invoicing platforms, template-driven document generation, or operational data products.
- Experience running AI-assisted BA workflows (Claude Code, Copilot) in production.
- Spanish / English bilingual fluency.
