Job Summary: |
The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a clinician-educator experienced in primary care for women to work in our Women's Integrated Services in Health (WISH) clinic and to further assist with GIM women's health education and/or research. Candidate should be particularly interested and experienced in primary care for women and be board certified or board-eligible in internal medicine. The full-time position includes providing patient care 6-8 half days or 24-32 appointable clinic hours per week in the WISH clinic (.75 - 1.0 FTE). Responsibilities also include possibility of supervising internal medicine residents, teaching medical students and participating in decisions regarding practice operation. Responsibility for night, weekend, and vacation coverage will be shared within WISH faculty. In addition to clinical, patient-facing time, this role could include up to .25 FTE protected time to assist the development of women's health education and/or research for a minimum of 2 years. Additional support beyond two years will be contingent on progress in program development. The clinician-educator will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician/educator/scholar. Clinician-educators are encouraged to collaborate with other faculty in clinical research projects, but are not expected to be clinician-researchers. Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Care: Provide primary care services to women, including annual checkups, routine screenings, vaccinations, acute care needs, and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Preventative Services: Conduct preventative screenings, such as mammograms, Pap smears, bone density tests, and health assessments for women at different stages of life. Reproductive Health: Manage family planning, contraception, prenatal and postnatal care, menopause management, and counseling related to sexual and reproductive health. Health Education: Educate patients on wellness, nutrition, exercise, and mental health, including providing guidance on managing stress, healthy lifestyle changes, and preventive care. Collaboration: Work closely with specialists (e.g., gynecologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists) when necessary to ensure comprehensive care. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' healthcare needs, ensuring access to services, medications, and other medical interventions. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records in EMR system, including medical history, treatments, progress notes, and follow-up care, in compliance with healthcare regulations and policies. Academic Mentorship: Mentor, as appropriate, medical residents, students, fellows, post-doctoral fellows, advanced practice providers and junior faculty to ensure their success. Continuing Education: Stay current with developments in women's health care, ensuring evidence-based practices are integrated into patient care. Participate and attend Divisional activities including Division-wide and Department-wide grand rounds and special emphasis groups (e.g., mid-career review committee, WellDOM, JUMP). Remain open to collaborate with colleagues within the Department and throughout the University as appropriate to develop mutually beneficial training, research or clinical opportunities for yourself, the Division and the Department.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Instructor: $200,000 - $214,000 Senior Instructor: $216,000 - $232,000 Assistant Professor: $200,000 - $214,000 Associate Professor: $219,000 - $234,000 Professor: $231,000 - $247,000 Based on the current incentive plan, your total yearly compensation for full-time 1.0 FTE position will be $240,000 per year for your first two years. You can increase your compensation by optimizing billing and by working additional clinical hours. The current average compensation for 32 patient-facing hours a week of clinical effort is $267,000 per year and the maximal compensation at 36 clinical hours a week is estimated at $320,000. Any salary changes will be limited to the salary setting periods, which is July 1. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
