Department Overview
The Marketing Division is responsible for the sales and retention of new and existing group accounts, maintenance and service of such accounts and upgrading of business to these accounts. It is also responsible for individual, senior products and long term care sales and retention. Sales and product support involve the entire scope of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama coverage, including health, dental, long term care, life and account-based products. The Marketing Division is also responsible for product development and management, product profitability, advertising, direct marketing, marketing communications and marketing research and development.
Primary Responsibilities
The Mass Media Specialist - Digital Marketing will be responsible for creating effective, cohesive and consistent digital marketing and communications strategies for current groups, members and prospective customers. They are also a driving force in creating digital strategies for prospect acquisition, member retention and brand awareness. The incumbent will work with multiple stakeholders and partners across the organization to ensure all current and future digital initiatives successfully drive the intended customer and prospective customer behaviors (i.e. sales, service, tools, etc.). The incumbent will serve as the marketing point-of-contact for select digital vendors, ongoing maintenance requests, digital tools, campaign management, sales presentations and various cross-functional work groups. The incumbent also conduct audits of our clients' digital marketing efforts to determine past performance and set benchmarks for future efforts.
The Mass Media Team partners with sales, product development and market research to ensure development of marketing presentations, proposals, brochures, websites/web portals, e-mails and direct marketing campaigns drive sales across all distribution channels.
The Marketing area is also responsible for the ongoing formal communications with internal stakeholders as well as maintaining the Marketing Intranet site.
Summary of Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Health Care Management or a related field?
- Experience effectively managing internal and external cross-functional relationships (including advertising and marketing agencies, list brokers, media, fulfillment, vendors, etc.)
- Experience managing multiple projects while balancing deadlines, budgets and design constraints
- Proven experience with brand guidelines, strategic and operational planning, project implementation and performance monitoring
- Agency and or clients side experience managing business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) direct response program development and execution
- Experience in a position demonstrating exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to comprehend and simplify complex ideas
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in a position analyzing information to solve problems
- Experience being adaptable, flexible and energized by an ever-changing environment
- Experience managing the strategy, design, execution and results of digital marketing campaigns using multiple online channels preferred
- Extensive knowledge regarding internet digital marketing strategies and communication techniques and theories preferred
- Experience with campaign management tools and enterprise email service providers is preferred
- Knowledge of the products and services offered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for our group, individual and senior markets
- Understanding of the call center environment and related technology preferred
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Outlook is preferred
- Paid Media buying/planning experience on agency or client side preferred
Work Location
The work schedule for this position will be hybrid (onsite/remote). Business areas reserve the right to require associates to return to the office as needed, based on performance or other business considerations. A hybrid work schedule is subject to amendment or termination at any time by the Company.
