This position requires the candidate to assist Management and the Project Management teams in facilitating construction and consultant contracts to market. The candidate will be involved in the procurement process from pre-procurement, through solicitation, award, and post-award. Primary responsibilities include, development of the procurement, compliance with procurement processes, supplier response review, deadline management, and contract administration. Additional responsibilities include development of Board Agenda items to secure high-dollar value contract amendments, Change Orders, etc. The ideal candidate should be a proactive team member with the ability to work closely with all stakeholders including the Office of the County Attorney, Executive Management, Purchasing, Small Business, and Risk Management. The candidate must have good critical thinking, evaluation and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, be organized, detail-oriented, have good writing and grammar skills, be familiar with the Procurement processes, and have experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
General Description
Assists in initiating, coordinating and/or administering assigned programs or projects involving public sector procurements and/or contract administration.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with authority to drive a county vehicle for the duration of appointment.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires two (2) years of experience in procuring, managing and/or monitoring contracts, grants and/or leases or closely related experience
Special Certifications and Licenses
Prefer Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO)
Prefer Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)
Preferences
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field
Public Sector Procurements and/or contract, grant or lease administration
2+ years of experience in PeopleSoft
1+ years of experience in Legistar
1+ years of experience in BIdSync/Periscope
