Position: Director of Loss Prevention
Department: Loss Prevention
Purpose: To direct all Loss Prevention functions in the hotel ensuring a safe and secure accuracy and timely submission.
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Essential Functions:
* Ensures all Loss Prevention standards are properly followed.
* Reviews all reports completed by Loss Prevention officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
* Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
* Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, and acts of violence).
* Maintains guest room surveillance procedures.
* Maintains an effective key control program.
* Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.
* Responsible for payroll, scheduling and other administrative duties.
* Attends all hotel meetings such as evening stand up, Ops, Safety Committee, Rooms Division, and bi-weekly staff meeting.
* Brief on- coming shift officer and the MOD on all Loss Prevention issues prior to leaving property.
* Maintain high visibility in the lobby and other public areas, especially during busy periods.
* Function as MOD on weekends.
* Respond to all fire and medical emergencies.
* Develop department policies and procedures.
* Excellent computer skills.
Tools and Equipment:
* Telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, computer and printer, file folders, filing cabinet, and facsimile machine
* Lift jack dolly, hand truck, camera, first aid equipment
Working Environment:
* Interior of hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.
* Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
* Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
