Selects, maintains and develops an effective and high-quality team. Oversees and ensures the effective performance of all accounting disciplines, including receivables, payables, income audit, payroll, etc. Implements and adheres to generally accepted accounting principles within the department. Creates and maintains accounting safeguards and protocols to ensure confidentiality and safety of accounting records and monetary resources. Negotiates and maintains all property contracts and agreements. Produces and/or oversees the production of financial reports and statements for internal and external uses. Directs and coordinates the annual budget process for both financial and capital projections. Provides accurate monthly financial projections, forecasts and cash flow statements. Presents financial results and relevant analysis to property leaders, management company and ownership representatives. Develops and oversees the implementation and use of accounting audits at the hotel level to ensure required data, procedures and records are reviewed. This applies to both Accounting and other departments throughout the hotel, both administrative and operational. Provides operational analysis and information to property leadership for effective and useful decision making. Communicates with departmental leaders to ensure problems are avoided/resolved, communication lines are kept open, and ideas are generated. Takes an active role in the strategic leadership of the property. Proposes ideas to improve efficiency and maintain quality. Actively seeks areas of improvement. Performs related management activities as required.
What do you bring to the role?
Previous management-level accounting experience, preferably at least 5-10+ years. Experience within the hospitality industry is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results. Four-year degree in accounting, business administration, or finance is preferred. Superior leadership, management, and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to make connections across departments and collaborate effectively. Strong analysis and problem identification/resolution skills. A meticulous eye for detail. Represent company in a professional manner. Ability to work required hours in order to meet deadlines. Advanced computer applications knowledge.
