We have an exciting opening for a Materials A- 1st Shift located in New Hope, MN. This position performs all shipping and receiving transactions and moving materials within their area of control.

Your main responsibilities would include -

  • Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping dock to storage or work area.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming/outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, work orders, or other records.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with responsible buyer to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Receives material in using the MRP system.
  • Creates material move tickets from the MRP system.
  • Route items to departments and/or storage area per established guidelines.
  • Determines method of shipment if not noted on pre-printed shipper. Calls and schedules carriers for pickup.
  • Monitors carriers' performance and tariff charges and determines best carriers for the most cost-effective and reliable delivery with established standards.
  • Maintains shipping logs and shipping records. Process lost freight or shipping damage claims.
  • Prints bar-coded labels when required internally or by customer.
  • Prints required shipping paperwork from MRP systems.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. Prepares packing list(s), bills of lading, and other shipping documentation as necessary.
  • Assembles cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Inserts items into containers.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency in the receiving department.
  • Limits access to shipping area by unauthorized individuals.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the shipping department.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned by management.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specification. Assures compliance with workplace safety procedures.
  • Limits access to loading docks by unauthorized individuals.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates lift truck or issues hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping department to shipping platform.
  • Maintains good housekeeping at all times.
  • Performs duties while following all company safety guidelines.
  • Performs all closing duties such as locking doors, setting alarm systems, and other duties assigned by management.

    Who we are looking for talent with -

  • High School Degree or Equivalent Required


  • 2 years' work experience in the flow, delivery and organization of materials in a manufacturing environment.


  • Working knowledge of computers and willingness to advance skills as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.


  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed, determined by business need.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: The hourly pay for this position is $22.28 per hour with the ability to earn up to $27.80.
